Xmen Apocalypse will be directed by Bryan Singer and will premiere on May 27 of this year. The previous movie in the Xmen series is Xmen Days of Future Past. In this movie, Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) goes back in time to stop the creation of the robots known as sentinels. These sentinels were made to hunt mutants and 50 years after they are created they kill off most of the mutant and human race alike. Wolverine has to stop the mutant, Mystique, from killing the weapons designer Oliver Trask because in the alternate timeline when she does kill him, she is captured and her shape-shifting abilities are used to create the sinister robots. Througout the story, the alternate timeline is altered until at the end, it completely changes and Mystique ends up not killing Trask, so the robots are never created and the world is at peace. In the end credits of the movie, a blue hooded mutant is shown in Egypt levitating mass amounts of rock and building the Pyramids-leading many to believe he is in fact, Apocalypse. Apocalypse is set up to take place ten years after wolverine ended up back in time and its hard to forsee what the new timeline will be like since it was changed so drastically.
It is thought that Apocalypse will be a mutant with the ability to control the molecules in his body. This was his power in the comics and it makes him basically unstoppable. The storyline will have the extremely powerful mutant controlling four others: Storm, Magneto, Psylocke, and Archangel. With this team at his control, Apocalypse is bound to clash with the newly formed Xmen. I believe that goal of Apocalypse will be to build a new civilization of mutants with him as the leader. This seems like the most probable idea as he calls himself a "father" of all mutants.
